JOB STATEMENT
The Registered Nurse delivers outpatient nursing care as directed by providers, performing patient triage, assessment, education, and clinical interventions.
JOB FUNCTIONS
- Evaluate symptoms and perform triage assessments
- Monitor and report patient condition changes
- Administer medications under provider supervision.
- Educate patients and families on health topics
- Translate for patient-provider communication
- Coordinate health screenings and training activities.
- Maintain accurate medical records and perform point-of-care testing
- Operate medical devices; electrocardiograms “EKGs”, spirometry, and ear irrigations.
- Support quality assurance goals and team development.
- Performs other tasks as required by management.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: Minimum Associates Degree in Nursing
- Specialized Training/Certifications/Licenses:
- Registered Nurse licensure from the State of Texas
- Current Health Care Provider CPR Certification.
- Experience:
- Prior Nursing experience (preferred)
- Knowledge:
- Community Health Nursing (preferred)
- Spanish is a plus
- Skills:
- Basic Computer Literacy

- Abilities:
- Must be able to speak, read, write, and comprehend the English language.
- Ability to stand/walk for majority of the shift.
- Must be able to bend or stoop.
- Must be able to lift 10 lbs. unassisted
- Must be able to physically assist patients that may be in physical distress, fainting/falling or provide general assistance if mobility of patient is impaired.
- Must have good vision (e.g. near acuity and depth perception)
- Other:
- Occasional Saturdays, local travel is necessary, must keep up to date with clinic required immunizations and training compliance.
