Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN)

JOB STATEMENT

Provides essential patient care while supporting clinic operations and collaborating with medical staff.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                           

JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Patient preparation, vital sign measurement, and pre-screening.
  • Specimen collection and routine lab tests.
  • Vaccine administration, adverse event monitoring, and inventory management (including serving as vaccine coordinator).
  • Patient education and phone support.
  • Equipment sterilization and waste disposal.
  • Assisting with audits and reports.
  • Training other staff and maintaining inter-agency relationships.
  • Administering medications under supervision.

 MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: Practical or Vocational Nursing Degree
  • Specialized Training/Certifications/Licenses: Texas LVN/LPN License (or compact state equivalent), and CPR Certification
  • Experience: 1 year preferred
  • Knowledge: Spanish is a plus
  • Skills: Computer Literacy, Patient-Centered Orientation, Cooperation, and Confidentiality
  • Abilities: Fluent in English (speak, read, write, comprehend), ability to stand/walk for extended periods, bend/stoop, lift 20 lbs. unassisted, physically assist patients, and have good vision
  • Other: Ability to work occasional Saturdays, potential local travel between clinics, and must maintain CPR and required immunizations
